Slick!

It's time for Sara Palin and John McCain to go skinny dipping of the shore of Louisiana. And I suppose they should take President Obama with them.

They should also read one of my recent posts and the associated comments.

No need to pass the buck and try to scapegoat McCain, Palin, and Obama for this mess; if you drive a car, ride a bus, or turn on your lights when you get home at night then you are just as much to blame as anyone else. I read somewhere recently that 30% of our oil comes from the Gulf of Mexico. We all benefit from the advanced society and economy that all that oil fuels and makes possible, so we all have to step up to the plate and accept responsibility for the negative trade-offs that come with it.

(Having been personally very active in the anti-Nuke movement in the late 70's and early 80's, then I'm probably even more guilty than many others for the fact that in all the years since then we have become even more dependent on oil rather than less).

A very good comment Andre - I couldn't agree more.

I feel I should remind you though that a campaign slogan of
'Drill baby drill!" isn't very helpful in fostering support for alternatives. It promotes a false sense of endless supply and ignores the very real environmental dangers.

Democrats think more long term and our message is, and has been, one of innovation versus dependency.
