2005. It should be noted - of course - that the fire started even way before that and it's been burning for a long time. We just need to stop blaming President Obama for all of the countries financial problems. The Obama administration's spending has been spent mostly trying to put the fire out. That's a big difference.
I hope at least one person in the Tea Party reads this - they seem to have a very difficult time understanding history. You can't blame the Fire Fighters for burning your house down when they are only trying to extinguish the flames.

How many times do we have to go over this?
President Obama IS NOT being blamed for all the reckless spending that occurred during the Bush years. President Obama is being blamed only for his own reckless spending and failed policies, not for anyone else's.
The idea that Obama has been trying to "extinguish the flames" on spending is ludicrous. If anything, he has been pouring gasoline on the fire...he had to be dragged kicking and screaming by the Tea Party into agreeing to the feeble spending "cuts" of last weeks debt limit increase legislation (which only cut the projected growth of spending, not any actual spending).
The Tea party movement has correctly identified the problem (massive overspending)...a problem you were able to identify yourself back in 2005 (when there was a Republican President). Funny how you seem oblivious to that same insight now, with a Democrat President. It seems that you are the one who has "a very difficult time understanding history.", not the Tea Party. They at least seem to have the ability to learn from history, do you?
I'm learning from it right now. Massive spending cuts without revenue increases - especially when those spending cuts come from economic recovery efforts - equals 500+ drop in Dow Jones. Lesson learned.
What "massive spending cuts"?
There haven't been any spending cuts at all, let alone any "massive" ones.
What HAS happened in the last few days is that US debt shot up $238 billion to reach 100 percent of gross domestic project, immediately after President Barack Obama signed into law an increase in the debt ceiling (the last time US debt topped the size of its annual economy was in 1947 just after World War II).
THAT should be your lesson.
I think the real lesson learned - by all Americans - is that the GOP, especially the Tea Party truly are terrorists. The STUPID debt ceiling debate is what caused instability not only here in the US but around the world. The focus on our debt makes the rest of the world very uneasy. The GOP USED our debt as a tool to get their way. I'm not the only one using the term terrorists to describe this bunch on political nuts. It's becoming quite common because it is true.
I don't like to curse in my blog but I have one very important thing to say to the GOP and especially the Tea Party - STOP FUCKING WITH AMERICA! Fight your battles in a respectable way that doesn't risk throwing our entire nation into collapse! In other words - GROW UP!
The focus on our debt makes the rest of the world very uneasy."
Yes, you are right, it DOES make the rest of the world very uneasy. And it should.
It should make us all uneasy because if it is left to continue on it's current path it will lead to our economic destruction, and that will have world wide repercussions.
Unfortunately, as you so articulately exemplified just now, the Democrat Party is psychologically, emotionally, and intellectually unprepared (unable?) to deal with the reality of the situation, and instead is committed to a continued policy of infantile denial and sticking their heads in the sand. All they have to offer is childish taunts of "terrorist" to anyone who dares try to open their eyes to the reality right in front of their faces.
Luckily for us, and the rest of the world, the Republicans, lead by the Tea Party, are willing to face the awful reality of the situation and are finally making the beginnings of a serious attempt to deal with it.
Will it prove to be too little, too late?
Time will tell.
We don't use the word "terrorist" lightly - at least I don't. The definition per Webster:
1. A radical who employs terror as a political weapon; usually organizes with other terrorists in small cells; often uses religion as a cover for terrorist activities
The Tea Party fits this definition perfectly - especially when they hold the credit rating of the United States as a weapon to accomplish their agenda without any contribution to help fix the issue.
I realize that the Left is out of ideas, but this is just pathetic.
It's obvious that you guys are in full panic mode.
And yes, not only are you using the word "terrorist" lightly; you are using it frivolously, and it just demonstrates how fundamentally unserious you are about tackling any of the problems that face this nation.
We are serious about dealing with these issues in a RESPONSIBLE and BALANCED manner. The reckless obstructionism of the Tea Party will not be tolerated.
In my analogy of the main article here I said you can't blame the firefighters for burning your house down. The Tea Party in this example is standing in the doorway yelling at them to put out the fire faster while blocking the firefighters from being able to get into the building at all.
Oh man, you can't turn your back on those Tea Party guys for a second; first they want to take away all your Government freebies and give-aways, and now, just to add insult to injury, Rand Paul is even ripping off your favorite burning building/fireman analogy!

What will they try to steal from you next?
