I wish I could be there!

"We just want everyone to continue to like our show so Comedy Central can sell beer to young people,"
-Jon Stewart.

I see on Drudge today that there were signs at the Stewart rally showing Republicans with Hitler mustaches, and one saying "I masturbate to Christine O'Donnell".

Quite a few steps down in classiness and maturity from the uplifting and graciously non-partisan Beck rally a few weeks ago...and just three days from a mid term election that already looks to be a big winner for the GOP!

Thank you Jon Stewart!

"graciously non-partisan Beck rally"

Who knew you were such a comedian! LOL

Wait - I've gotta LOL some more. LOL

I've only watched about half the rally so far (Halloween is like the gay Superbowl after all) but my favorite sign so far said of Christine O'Donnell "If you want to be me - be me. If you want to be you - be you. If you want to be a witch - that's OK too."

That's what I consider non-partition inclusiveness. :)

From the New York Times:

"Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert may not want an overtly political rally on Saturday, but the Democratic National Committee is doing everything it can to capitalize on the event.

Volunteers and staff members from the headquarters are greeting people as they get off of the buses or arrive in Washington on trains, armed with sign-up sheets for canvassing efforts in districts across the country.

And for those rally attendees who have not gotten enough of politics by the end of the rally, they can head over to the the committee’s headquarters a few blocks away, where there will be a phone bank. Committee officials said they expected to get at least 100 people there."

Nothing even remotely comparable was associated with the Beck rally, and you cab be sure that the refexively anti-Beck MSM was desperately searching the crowds for obnoxious hateful signs like those at yesterdays event, to plaster all over the front page of the next days newspapers. They couldn't find any. That's what I meant by "graciously non-partisan". I didn't mean that the Beck rally didn't have a point of view..of course it did!

Laughter is good.

But do I detect in your exaggerated mirth the nervous laughter of a man who fears that his circus train is about to go off the rails?

Happy Halloween, dude. (the Friday night Critical Mass ride SF was rockin'!...always the best of the year).

I just finished watching the rally - it was really great! And I didn't see any of the signs you mentioned in the official broadcast - though I don't doubt they were there. We are - in fact - a country of many opinions, and I think that was the whole point of this rally.

I did my part - I voted early last week. I've got my fingers crossed for the big day on Tuesday.
